AMD trims X2 prices

Biggest drop was the X2 5200, from 403 to 285.

Hopefully, these drops expedite intel's upcoming price cuts.

AMD's price cut does nothing. The X2 4200+ will still cost more than the E6300 after Intel's price cut.

It's a little helpful if you are still tied down to an AMD platform. But otherwise I agree with you.

This explains why the 5200+ has been cheaper then the 5000+ at times for the past while, the price cuts were in effect early for some sellers.

Things are now closer then before for AMD, and they now have 3 X2 CPU's below the 163USD price threshold of Core 2 Duo. So they are in tolerable shape. Though the mid to upper ranges still remain with Intel.

Prices have been hovering at around those points for the last month, AMD just made it official.

Now this is cheap!
