you don't want to go above 1.85. it sounds to me like you've maxed out your chip. sorry, but dems da breaks.

cooling also has a lot to do with it, what HSF are you using? and maybe you did a sligtly less than perfect unlock (i know i did with my pencil)

i am using a global win i don't know which model. I also have four case fan and the highest temp for the system on 1.85 volts is 40c. I have an abit kt7 raid if that helps. i used the pencil trick, what i did is i took a pencil swiped it back and forth on the l1 bridges and made sure that all of them were filled in. i also tried seti@home for 3 hours and it helped a little now i can boot into windows at 960hz(9.5x100+1)

No, better RAM will not do anything unless you are doing some FSB OCing, which was not what trung was trying to do (until the 960MHz). I would think that the chip is nearingits limit. Trung, you have any idea what week this chip is?

I think the pencil trick is unreliable. I couldn't get my tbird 750 over 900 until I used the rear window defogger repair kit.

no i don't know what week this is but i know it is aluminum since i saw the green tint. i guess i should have dumped the extra 100 dollars to get the 950 with the copper core. Man this sucks ass, for sure when i saw the splash screen i thought it could go higher.

is there a new bios version for the abit kt7 raid that has higher voltage????? becasue my temp is fine it is around 35 under seti@home i keep it running all the time

Guys,
This may sound silly, but can something as little as your mouse/mouse driver combo cause problems?
I had a t-bird 800 on a KT7 raid that would freeze at Win98SE bootup at anything over 850mhz. I replaced my aging Kensington Scroll Mouse today with a brand spanking new Logitech USB Wheelmouse, and just for the hell of it tried to tweak my bios multiplier settings. I was shocked when the thing booted up perfectly at 900mhz. I have never been able to do this before, and was just wondering if it was a fluke, or if the newer hardware just handles the speed better.

Hell, if something as simple has changing a mouse can give me 50mhz for free, I will never by off-brand hardware again!!!

What do you think?

There are a lot of factors in Overclocking.
My last board was a Soyo K7VIA KX133 with a T-bird 800 and it would not take a GFD, I had to go 8 x 115 for 920 and 1.80 v.
My new board, an Asus K7V-T with the 800 and a FSP GFD will do 9.5 x 107 for 1022 mhz but I had to jump to 1.95v. It would do 950 at 1.75v , but had to bump it up for more speed.
