One thing that surprises me today is the fact that cable users outweigh any other single kind of internet conectivity. Firing Squad has a similiar poll with the same results.

I would have thought it would still be dialup.

Good thing I got in on the beta testing for Charter Pipeline in my area! :) Installing today baby!

There might be a sampling bias... I doubt many dialup/aol/"I actually think clicking on this pop-up is going to give me free access to britney and justin's private sex tape" people like to browse AT. Way to go AMD (and IBM HDs :) )!

I find it ironic that IBM harddrives are the most popular on a poll that is supposedly biased towards tech oriented people.

The reason that IBM is still the leader is because up until about a year ago, IBM was the best thing going, and nobody knew about their high faliure rates. If you check out peoples system profiles, then you will find that most people still have an IBM hard drive or two left over from their popular time.

Tex,

You just gotta post something political in a hardware forum also, don't you? ;) :p

The thing to remember is that AT is not a valid sample of the internet population.

Think of all the AOL users out there that can't post from AT.

Looks like AMD is now the most popular CPU here at anandtech.

That's hardly surprising and I'm sure this was the case months ago.

However I'd expect that the count has already started leaning towards Intel because of Northwoods and DDR.

Certainly, I would imagine Intel's share has gone up a great deal since the 1.6A.

I would imagine it has, but then again it hard to say until some time passes and people UPDATE THEIR SYSTEM RIG PROFILE

Maybe we need a thread to remind them
