AMD stock cooler airflow direction

hi i've never used the amd stock cooler for 3800X2, but i will be soon, does the fan blow down into the heatsink (aka suck air in) or blow air out of the heatsink? thanks

so if i were to have a 120mm fan on the side , i should have it as an intake to provide cool air from the outside for te cpu?

correct. having good airflow from the front to the back is just as effective

yea but wouldn't the cold air from the front be all warm by the time it gets to the back, where the cpu is??

That's why the most efficient case comes with a side duct to direct room temp air to the CPU.
