I have a 3800+ and a asus a8v mb, I've heard that the temps on this mobo are off but i'm getting 49°c for my proc and 31°c for my mobo, imo that processor temp seems to high. Do any of you guys have any opinions?

Another question, this seems totally absurd, but do you guys think my cooler master 350 watt psu will run a pny 6800 ultra with 2x sata drives, 1 optical, audigy platinum and my 3800?

Don't forget to add the # of case fans including the PSU fan into the requirement for the PSU as well as the motherboard.

If you add it all up you might find it fit into 350WATTs. That's fine but does your PSU actually run @ 350WATTs? Probably not.

Check the documentation for the PSU and find out what the Temperature rating is. If it is 0-25C then it is unlikely that your PSU will actually run @ 350WATTs. If it is 0-40C or 0-50C then it is likely that it will run at 350WATTs.

That's because for each degree C that your case is over the limit of the PSU the PSU will drop the current by 9WATTs. If your case's temp is say 35C then you are actually running your PSU @ 260WATTs (assuming your limit is 25C which is common for PSUs).

Food for thought.

Edit: Forgot to mention that you should also find out how many Amps your computer parts will require for the 3.3v rail, the 5v rail and the 12v rail. Your PSU has a limit as to what average Amps it can push through each rail. If you go over that limit you will run into major problems.
