Yeah I have them and they suck.

I rushed to get the Xbox One. Then the PS4. Then the Xbox One S. Then the Xbox One X. Then the PS4 Pro. And finally the PS5. I see no reason to get the Xbox Series (any of them) or the PS5 Pro. It's a scam. It made sense when they were affordable at max $500.

It started being a MASSIVE scam with the introduction of the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

So now they are going to launch with weaker specs ON PURPOSE and then do a not that powerful mid-cycle refresh.

So what does a console gamer do? Buy the overpriced weaker launch console or wait and buy the even more overpriced mid-refresh console? How about just staying a PC gamer and buying used consoles for far below their launch price??? <<< Seems like the best strategy for me.

Xbox & RDNA 5 solve this problem to an extent

Want xbox series X — that is AT2 10070
Want xbox series S / handheld — that is AT4 10050

Want a "halo" handheld/tablet — then that is AT3 10060

Want something more powerful than 10070 — then you are an Nvidia customer

Want a pro ?
Then wait for RDNA 6 or 7 refresh

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the series S is a casual trap, where you get a vastly worse experience than if you just pay $100-$150 more for a PS5/Series X. On the other hand, it must have forced at least a few companies to make their game more scalable to make it playable on low end hardware, which benefits the low end gamer.

Also, wouldnt this completely kill Xbox sales now that nextbox is high end only and theres no exclusives?

The no. one developer for PlayStation is Microsoft right ?

Bottom line for satya is the Azure servers he can sell to Sony & gamepass & xbox cloud (AT0) subscriptions

The rest will be small potatoes for him. He is an Azure guy after all

a) that's some no good random idiot having idiot opinions
b) MS has been trying to do that since 360-era with various attempts like GFWL, Xbox app for Windows 10, Game Pass commonality between PC and console at Ultra SKU tier etc etc. This really never once impacted their hardware roadmap.

Then I guess they are seeing enough profit from hardware and software sales to invest in a new generation. I really thought Xbox Series X was going to be it (especially with their braindead decision to not have a user upgradable NVMe SSD which made many gamers unhappy).

Then the Xbox One X because Kodi was horrible and laggy in regular use and even struggled with some file formats. I thought the One X would solve that issue but it didn't. The least used console I have (after the PS5 and PS2) because it made me so mad that I quit using Xbox after that.

And oh yeah, funny thing: my launch day Xbox One X croaked when I tried to run Titanfall 2 on it. The HDD crashed and it would boot into some weird looking Windows console screaming about some error. Wish I had kept the photo of that. It was within the 15 day period so happily got my money back. Then I waited six months or so to get another Xbox One X.
