THE LADS AND LASSES in AMD's press team have caught up with the action and today have announced the introduction of the Athlon MP 2400+ multiprocessing chip.
It has been shipping for a little while now, but it's refreshing to see the chip arrive before the press release. Often, we've found, IT vendors do things the other way round...
In the press release, it said that the Tokyo Institute of Technology has "one of several" AMD Athlon MP supercomputers on the Top 500 list.
The release said that systems using the 2400+ will be available immediately from 47 system builders worldwide.
