Just a quick question...I dont have too much experience with these AMD Sempron processors. They appear to be Socket A, is this true?

And will they drop into most Socket A motherboards?

I was getting ready to pick up an Asus A7N8X-X mobo, and according to Asus's website, it will work with the Athlon XP and Duron line of AMD chips. What about Sempron?

Is it safe to assume that all standard Socket A Athlon XP based mobos will work with the Sempron lineup?

There are socket A Semprons and socket 754 Sempron (3100+). All the socket A Semprons will work on any board that supports FSB 333MHz, though the board may need a BIOS update to display the processor name and detect the speed correctly.

Another thing you should know about the Sempron is that a 2800+ is a tad faster than an Athlon XP 2400+.
