My two systems are still chugging along at 2250, since I haven't done the BIOS flash yet (kinda ironic since I was the guy who posted it). Niether has given me any problems yet, but I should mention that the one in my sons rig uses a USB wireless internet adapter, so the LAN port doesn't ever get used on that one. The other one connects to my router with through the LAN port and hasn't given me a problem yet.

I was tempted to get another combo, but I am waiting to see what July 23rd brings about from AMD. I am very glad to see that this thread is still going and helping people.

I need help, folks. How do you install a 5.1 channel speakers? I used the ECS sound driver. This board has 6 channel sound. But the owner's manual is silent about it.

There is an S/PDIF header on the board, I think. Don't you have to have a connector for this which is similar to the following?: SPDIF I/O cable.

Or this, look at the 6 channel bracket. 6 channel audio

I have an SPDIF bracket from a different mobo. It has SPDIF out, SPDIF in, earphone and mic. My 5.1 channel speaker has 3 jacks. Which do you plug into where?

Go to Control Panel\Sound Effect Manager. Under Speaker Configuration tab, turn ON 6 Channel mode for 5.1 speaker output. The Line In and Mic In jacks will change to rear and center/sub Out.

OEM CPU. Still a very good deal @ $70. Easy 2.25GHz core speed (rivals A64 3200 CPU). Plenty of speed for the latest games. Highly recommended for 90% of PC users.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've never been able to locate this combo using search words on Outpost's site. I've been able to find the motherboard or the CPU separately, but not the combo. Each time I've purchased the combo, I've had to come back to this thread to click on the link to it.

Damn.... My Sons rig (the first combo I bought) has stopped working....

I will have to tinker with it a bit (when I get the chance), but for now it seems to be the Motherboard. After pushing the power button, I see the power come on, the fans spin, and the CD-Rom LED blinks. It seems that the HD LED barely flickers and the Monitor never even gets Video signal. No BIOS screen or anything.

Ohhh well... That PC ran 24/7 for a few months now (I ordered it on April 7th), but not nearly long enough. I have an Asus KT800 Motherboard that I will swap the items over too and see how what happens. I also have another ECS/3100+ Combo that is in the Family rig, I will trade out as necessary...

Anyone else suffer failure in this timeframe? Typically, I expect after the first 72 hours that things work well for at least a year or two.

Hmmm...what is the brand of PSU capacitors (big ones close to the CPU) on that board? I'd swap the MB to see if there is life. You should e-mail ECS about your problem.

All my NF3 units are still purring.

Did the PC just stop responding?

Yeah. She was folding away for at least 1.5 weeks (since last re-start) and when I got home from work my son told me that his PC wasn't working. I found the Power LED on and the Monitor 'asleep', nothing responded to mouse or keyboard jiggles. I tried 'reset' and still no video output. The next day I reset the CMOS jumper and dusted everything out, still no boot.

I will most likely tinker with it over the weekend. I have been meaning to try that Asus board (KT800 chipset) since I replaced the BIOS chip. I'll use this CPU and one of the sticks to test that board with a different case, Video card and HD.

I'll email ECS when I see what is up. I will post back with my findings...

My moms PC has the combo 3100 paris and ECS board in it, and it just stopped working a few days ago. Completely locked up, had to turn power off at PSU and reset the cmos. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come... it wasnt even overclocked.

Can someone confirm that S3 standby works OK on this board (ECS nF3-A v1.0A)? I started a thread about this in the mobo forum.
