got two now, the second one that came worked for ~5 min, didn't even have time to overclock it! then the screen went black, reset board and everything still black, I called them and they sent me another one and I sent them the broke one back, they said they would pay for return shipping, all I had to do is fax them a copy of the shipping receipt, nice company to do business with, the couple times I have called them they have picked up the phone in a timely manner.

I have had this combo for over a month
with no problems. I can run at 2.5(use clockgen)
but I leave it at 2.25. This system runs F.E.A.R
great with my BFG 6800GS/OC.

Okay,I think I'm gonna jump. question, though:

I want to get a hsf that works adequately and the Coolermaster at Outpost is $12.99.

How good is this fan, and what are heat pipe fans to which others have been referring?

I ordered two days ago at $89. Does outpost pricematch?

I also ordered Friday at 89.00. I called Outpost. They don't match or do price adjustments. Believe it or not, I was told my remedy was to refuse delivery, cancelling order, then re-order. Q-then Outpost ends up paying shipping three ways? A-that's right. Q2-That does't make sense. A-That's right. Q-(not asked of CSR) wtf kind of way is this to run a business?
As a practical matter, no way am i gonna cancel-then have two charges on my card, or run the risk of the item being permanently OOS. Even @89 it's a helluva deal, but aggravating Customer Service-not a way to build loyalty, but then with their prices, maybe they figure they can get away with it.

Thanks you guys and gals. I've been looking at this for more than a couple of weeks now. I purchased this set, a coolermaster heatsink/fan and a northbridge cooler (passive) for a total of $108.02, including 2 day shipping. By the way, where do you buy the AMD copper fins heatsink/cooler? The seller mentioned before no longer has any. Can you point me to the right direction?

Are there any PCI-E/939 deals going on. This current deal looks good and am tempted to order, but I know as soon as I get the stuff a good pci-e/939 deal will pop up.

Just called up outpost and got the same story: "Refuse the order, and then order another"... "Yes, I agree that it doesn't make any sense, but right now we can't price match."

If you ask me that's a pretty bad business practice, but then again, it's not my money being wasted.

Why would you need the heatpipe with this CPU? Spend $80 on the MB/CPU combo and $17 on a CPU cooler. That's dumb! The standard AMD CPU cooler will do the job, even at 2.25GHz core CPU speed. You may be able to get one from a local PC builder for $5 or less.

My Sempron 3100 spends 95% of the time under 40C. With SMART fan control ENABLED in BIOS, my CPU fan is OFF most of the time. This processor is overclocked to 2.44GHz (with Cool n Quiet).

Thanks, I did get the $17 one with heatpipe for myself when I paid $90 + shipping for the combo. Now I am buying another one for my bro, so an $11 HSF would match the lowered price :)
My Sempron 3100 was around 32C before OC, went up to around 36C at 2.25GHz. This is with the EXPENSIVE HSF. Let's see what a stantard HSF can do.
