Correct me if I am wrong but, isn?t this new 2800+ that has been benched now by all the sites, and not technically been released to the public already been discontinued? The article states that new Barton 2800+'s will go on sale Q1 03, not the current thoroughbred like we all thought.
Man that was a short lived part wasn?t it. That means those benchmarks were relatively pointless as they will need to bench the Barton now.
That is exactly the case. The 2800+ benchmarks that have been the reason for some heated discussions around here lately wont see the day of light! And, I wouldn?t be surprised if AMD had already known this before hand. The Barton, which no one knows how it will really perform, will probably not be benched until its release. Unless AMD does another paper launch, which will make some investors content for the time being (though a lot are not so happy right now).
Man, it seems like AMD is starting to pull-off some old style *cough*Intel*cough* tactics here!
Well, now it?s really official that majority of the end users will not see the 2800+ until Q1 2003 (or even later). Unless Inquirer is absolutely wrong about this one? We'll have to wait and see.
