This generation of laptops is going to be weird. You'll have to choose between getting the best-available dGPU or getting the best-available CPU. Can't have both in one unit.
For laptops I don't see the big issue here. the best dGPU needs so much juice it hardly ends up being a portable solution. For work a 8 core with some lower end nv gpu (for cuda/deeplearning testing) would be pretty great.
