Talking to other people in my area Microcenter is not updating their stock website. Microcenter may have cpus in stock but not listed online. In St davids the sales guy said they restock Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You will have to get there early and get in line to grab a voucher. They sold out of the Dark Heros they had in today but they were never listed on the websites inventory

Done tweaking my final 24/7 PBO + curve optimizer settings.
Had to handtune the curve optimizer setting for each core on my cpu to make it 100% stable and boost like it should, and it took pretty much whole day, but it was worth it in the end :)

Screenshot below show the curve optimizer offset for each of the corresponding cores in ryzen master.
Hwinfo's T0 effetive clock show what each core can sustain in cinebench r23 singlethread with these settings. (forced the thread around by affinity)

Also did a 1000% memtester run to make sure my memory settings are rock solid.

Pretty much done tweaking this platform now.. Just waiting for my RTX 3090 SUPRIM X to arrive next week so i can start playing around in 3dmark :)

Note: Passmark runs really hot, had 82max temp after cinebench r20 and r23 multicore with passmark upping it to 90 (!)

people on other forums complain about WHEA error.. windows event viewer-> windows logs -> system

I get them aswell when i overclock my memory, but the system is stable.. tested 5hours + in ramtest.. so continue to run it overclocked..

i think its a bios problem.. but some people already talking about RMA..

What you guys think? We got bad CPUs? Or it just a bios thing?

Those appeared early on after Ryzen 3000 launched as well. I think they were eventually fixed by BIOS/AGESA updates? Don't remember.

I'm leaning towards the uEFI implementation. I guess it could be a combo of uEFI and Windows in the end? AMD did announce they are working on a uEFI version that will make achieving higher FCLK's possible/stable....Maybe it's the WHEA error issue?

What WHEA error do you get? Which CPU? How high is your ram clocked?

The reason I ask is I've tried 2 motherboards with my 5900x and Samsung b-die kit with different results.

1st MB (X570) I'd get no errors up to 3600/1800 1:1
3800/1900 1:1 the WHEA errors would start, but slowed down once the ram was stable, but I couldn't eliminate them entirely.
4000/2000 1:1 I could stabilize the memory, but WHEA errors were uncontrollable. I wasn't even at the FCLK limit as I could boot higher. Ram overclocking ability changed from uEFI version to version on this MB. There were 3-4 uEFI versions that wouldn't play nicely with 1900 FCLK at all.

It was always the same WHEA error. Don't remember exactly, but I think it was ID 19? Something to do with the CPU cache system recovering from a error I believe.

2nd MB (B550) I can do 3800/1900 1:1 with no WHEA errors. The downside is I haven't been able to do 4000/2000 1:1 yet, but I haven't really tried too much as I'm swapping my ram out once my 32GB's get here....Not like 3800 C14 was slow anyways.

Current ram kit G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GFX
Future ram kit G.Skill (2x) F4-3600C16D-16GTZN

I'll shoot for 3600 CL14 with the 4 sticks as my goal, but will be seeing what I can do with 3800MHz.

Cyberpunk 2077 appears not to support AMD SMT?

Users and reviewers noticed that Cyberpunk 2077 has problems utilizing the full potential of the AMD Ryzen CPUs, in particular the SMT (Simultaneous Multi-Threading) technology. The issue can easily be observed in Windows Task Manager, where the game is locked to the CPU’s physical cores, rather than logical. This problem is not present on the Intel processors, indicating that the code might have not been optimized for AMD CPUs.

User UnhingedDoork provided a quick solution to this problem, which appears to improve multi-threading support by the game, and as a result minimum and average framerate and overall gaming experience. The solution requires a modification in the game executable file, which appears to affect how the game recognizes the CPU.

It is unclear how the game, which was delayed so many times, has not been optimized for AMD Ryzen processors. Whether it was an oversight from the game developer or something that was supposed to work at launch, it remains unclear. Hopefully CD Projekt Red will be able to improve multi-threading performance and provide further optimizations for not only AMD Ryzen processors but also AMD Radeon GPUs which still lack raytracing support.

A quick guide has been provided by a Redditor chaosxk. We do not recommend tinkering with the executable files unless you are absolutely certain of what you are doing.

Step by Step:
Download HxD hex editor
1. Find your Cyberpunk2077.exe, i have GOG so mines was in Cyberpunk 2077binx64
2. Make a backup copy of Cyberpunk2077.exe just in case
3. Drag Cuberpunk2077.exe to HxD, a bunch of hex numbers should appear (like 01 FF 0D, etc)
4. Press CTRL+F, change column to Hex-Values
6. Put in “75 30 33 C9 B8 01 00 00 00 0F A2 8B C8 C1 F9 08” in the search string without quotes, those values should be highlighted
7. Copy “74 30 33 C9 B8 01 00 00 00 0F A2 8B C8 C1 F9 08” without quotes
8. Back in HxD right click the highlighted values and select “paste insert”
9. Now go to top bar and click the save icon logo

I did this and my CPU usage went from 50% to 90% on high crowd density. My 3070 went from 75% to 90% I gain about 10 FPS, also FPS seems more stable and less random stutters.
Also, before DLSS was not doing shit because the CPU was getting bottlenecked. Enabling DLSS now with hex-edit boosted my FPS from 70 to 100 FPS. Still slightly bottlenecked since GPU isn’t fully 100% but i am running 1080p so that’s partially the issue.

What WHEA error do you get? Which CPU? How high is your ram clocked?

5900x with 3600CL16 ram at 3733CL14-15-14-14. Yeah i get ID 19 as well. Its says its a Bus/Interconnect Error.
I get them more often during Aida64 runs or gaming.

Asrock is always good at playing magic. Anyone who owned Taichi or other 300series from Asrock should pay attention, might easily save money from a little BIOS.;)

One thing to keep in mind is that Zen 2 and Zen 3 only officially support up to DDR4-3200 memory despite motherboard manufacturers mentioning their motherboard's support faster RAM, for example, DDR4-3600 (OC), DDR4-3800 (OC), DDR4-4000 (OC), and so on. (OC) is mentioned in those specs of the motherboards because those speeds are not officially supported by those CPU's. If you run faster than DDR4-3200 RAM on these CPU's, don't expect it to run stable, as that's technically an overclock. I'm not surprised that some people here are saying that they are getting WHEA errors when they are running faster memory than what their CPU's memory controller officially supports. I would not blame that a CPU is defective if it can't run faster memory reliably that what it officially supports and I would recommend running the memory within official specs of what the CPU supports and see if those WHEA error still happen before blaming a bad CPU.

I would note, however, that it's a bit disingenuous of AMD to put memory speed sweet spot slides into their presentations that show "best value" and "sweet spot" RAM speeds that fall out of spec. Someone goes and buys RAM at what seems to be AMD-recommended "sweet spot" speed, and gets BSOD any time they try to run it at AMD's "best" speed. I can hardly fault the users here. AMD should stop putting out any type of slides that encourage unsupported changes that put the system in a place they know many or most of their chips can't support.

  • 3 TB of NVMe SSD of no reknown. I wonder if pcie4 drives will be worth it
Had to update the bios with the flashback feature in order to post. Getting into windows was a pain. Eventually it finally recognized the right SSD as a boot drive when I finally made it the only one. :p Completely new to the AMD world, last time I had one was a k6.

Nonsense. They should stop running above AMD recommended sweet spot then.

I understand.. but ;) its not gonna jibe so good in the gaming and overclocking community if the difference between a good cpu and bad one is to big. However we dont see that yet so its all good. But to give you an example from AOTS 1080p crazy setting between stock 3600 XMP, which is still overclock according to AMD, and 3733 cl 14 tuned:

Its like night and day. If me and my buddy bought the same cpu and i got a really bad one i would try return it ;)
This benchmarks scales very well with memory and have meaning in games. With 3900x you could gain 30 fps better minimums with tuned memory in BFV.

Hey I have 2 cpu coolers. 1) Noctua u14s(chromax black fan) 2) Noctua d15 chromax black. The d15 is on my 10700k. Do you all think i should use the d15 on the 5900x or still use the u14 on the 5900 as originally planed? Probably wont do any overclocking as i want it to be stable as possible.

Swapping out the 1500X/B350 with the 5600X & B550 board, hopefully this weekend. Retaining the 32GB Corsair DDR4 and H110i though.

Not much luck getting a new GPU but I think I'll hold off until I can get a better display anyway.

I performed an exorcism on my PC the other day and removed the evil Nvidia card. I had to wait for my memory sticks to arrive before I would post a photo. I'm still working on a color match for the memory and the RX on the GPU.

Switching from 2 sticks of b-die to 4 sticks was/is an adventure. I never knew how easy I had it with 2 sticks until I tried 4. I won't go back, but the 2 stick easy tweaking will be missed.

4 sticks defaults to gear down mode. Trying to run with CR1 and GDM disabled is unstable. So far it's looking like CR2 is the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to effecting latency. I'm still playing around with the memory, but I'll settle for 3600 CL14 if I have to.

Received replacement RAM kit today. Going to install them tomorrow and hope that they're good this time. For some reason my lucks with G.Skill kits is horrible. :p For my 3770K build I had go through two RMAs before I got working kits (at least one kit was fine from the get go).
