Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

It's mostly been staying in stock at multiple retailers this week.

Newegg even dropped the $10 shipping charge they had been charging on the CPU when it was selling out almost instantly.

Now only the 5900X and 5950X are the two CPUs that are hard to come by at the moment.

Yeah that is what I hear. I want the 5900X still :/

I updated my BIOS a few hours ago because I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. I have a 2600X and the 5600X and 5800X were both in stock at MSRP. I Just couldn't verify getting the 5800X when the 5900X is only $100 more. Thought about the 5600X, but I'd rather do it once and be done with it. So I (and probably many others) are in the same boat waiting on that 5900X.

Updated my BIOS and pulled out my 2700X and then put the 5800X in when UPS dropped it off. Booted up with no problems, just had to reset the DRAM settings and all was good. One of the most painless upgrades I've done, helped a bit in quite a few games I play even though I wasn't expecting too much. A few games it helped a lot, Monster Hunter World is pretty heavy on the CPU and I think it helped the most with that game. Desktop seems a bit smoother/snappier too but that might just be a placebo effect.

The 5900x has shown up a few times in the past month with availability lasting longer than a few seconds at least. AMD direct, as mentioned, seems to do drops on Thursday mornings around 11:30 EST. Last time the 5900x was available for about 15 minutes if I recall correctly.

I got a 5900x from AMD direct on a Thursday drop. You are correct it lasted about 15 minutes, because I tried to get a 5950x but could not. I then tried to get a 5900x and was able to.

Best Buy didn’t drop this week so you may have an opportunity there. It’s been two weeks since their last drop.

Thanks for the info. I know I don't need one, but I may just pick one up if it shows up tomorrow.

Since I started using NowInStock for a 3080, it hasn't been working very well. F5 got me a 3080 and no NowInStock notifications.

The NowInStock notifications through their website is bad. The Telegram service notifications from NowInStock is much better. Even that still misses things and is sometimes a little slower than other notification services. Just pull up their telegram services and don't bother with the website.

I'm debating switching my system over for once to amd now that AMD announced a bios update to come by mid april that fixes the usb issues. Mainly concerned for my vr headset but it's not like I can just walk into microcenter and get a 5950x.

I may try to preorder an 11700k or 11900k or at least wait and see if prices fluctuate for AMD by end of this month.

My telegram notifications and even discord channel notifications never seem to work for me for a 3080 so I've stopped paying attention to them.

Looks like Microcenter has dropped the 5xxx series pricing. Both the 5600x and 5800x are discounted $20 currently at least at the CA store. They don't have any 5900x's or 5950x's in stock so I'm unsure about them? There is a additional $20 MB combo discount available....Still no reserving the 5xxx's for in store pickup.

BestBuy has both the 5600x and 5800x in stock. It looks like they did have the 5950x's available earlier today, but are sold out....The see details when the page is refreshed is the giveaway!

BestBuy drop today was a f**king mess as always for getting a 5900X; by the time I got it in the cart to check out, it was only available at a store 84 miles away with no shipping option.

Yup that's happened several times before with me for their gpu's as well. Several times I get the notifications and I'm thinking they have to be late because I've never been able to add anything to cart in a reasonable amount of time on other sites.

So Micro Center de-listed the 5900X, as of posting this comment.

And BestBuy has 5600X and 5800X available for shipping delivered tomorrow, looks like those two are at near regular availability.

AMD.com should be selling the 5900x tomorrow, and so should BestBuy. AMD.com has a drop every Thursday, and BB drops every two weeks.

Apparently preorder for a huge drop they are getting April 5th. They don’t charge until it ships.
Ok I have an 11900k on preorder and now I'm considering cancelling and ordering from shop blt but I'm still weary of the AMD Usb issues. I know they had a fix to the bios but I'm still weary because I use my HP Reverb g2 headset a lot.
