AMD RMA's

So I contacted AMD and they agreed to RMA my CPU that just stopped working.

They already shipped the new CPU, but aren't they supposed to wait till I send the one I have and test it first?

Yeah i think they are surposed to receive your chip for inspections before they decide to RMA ... the reason for inspections is because there is a very small VERY small amount chips that are defective...
 
I once got three Sound Systems from Creative, one by one of course, because there always was something wrong with them. Now I'm sitting here with three systems I can't use, but I don't think I'll bother ask for a new one... They said they couldn't care less about the old ones though. And these are 350$ a piece retail...

funny though cause one day AMD emails me saying send us the cpu then the next day before i have even responded i get a fedex tracking #.

i always liked their service and support anyway.
 
hey tuffgong how did yo contact AMD's support??? I have a chip here that's been acting funny for awhile thats still under warranty. I had replaced every other part in the machine repeatedly and the little guy just wouldnt boot one day.
 
Well so much for the CPU...they only sent the HSF and acknowledged that even that was a mistake on their part.

I hope the CPU I send them doesn't get rejected.
