What is the best non-64-bit AMD processor out right now? (Before overclocking). Also, will the best 32-bit processor be able to hold its own in games against the A64 3200+?

I'm think that as well. The 3000 64 is the same price as the Barton 3200 and it like shady said, it kills it. Remember that the A64 CPU's are backwards compatible with 32 bit programming. It won't effect anything at all except a huge gain in performance which the A64 3000 provides. Plus when you get a hold of XP 64-bit w/ driver support you'll be on top of the world.

All the new Barton's come top locked, so they're an "iffy" recommendation.
