AMD Price Increases?

Seeing as the 1100T is 20$ less than that, I'd be willing to bet that SKU is getting phased out.

Shame about the 1055t going up though, guess the Newegg market was snatching them up at 180$.

It's not AMD that is doing the pricing, it's definitely Newegg.

I have been eying the Lian Li PC-P50WB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112253) case and yesterday it was selling for $179.99 + $9.99 shipping. Now the price jumped to $249.99 + $9.99 shipping.

Price gouging at it's worse I'm afraid.

Newegg is banking on selling a lot of new PC parts soon with new technology about to be released which is fine but this is simply ridiculous.

It could be, that's a pretty big jump for NE. We will just have to wait a week or so and see what the other sellers are doing. But it might be something that everyone that might be planning on buying an AMD processor to keep an eye on.
 
Sounds like newegg priceing games to me, I've seen a number of chips jump in price by $20-$30 in the past and drop back down again within a week.
 
i highly doubt there will be amd price increases. with intels new chips and the end of the holiday season its only going to get harder to sell their stuff
 
yeah...but the 1090t was 229.00 @ amazon the last few days until now...and now it is 249.00 lol. This really bites as I was looking to order this exact cpu...Heck I was thinking the price would DROP due to the impending sandy bridge release.
 
Yes, if you're using a discrete GPU, SB has little to offer below the high-end models which will be a lot more expensive than a 250$ hex-core. plus MOBOs are cheaper and support DDR2.

if i'm not mistaken, an 1090T now will still be compatible with future MOBOs. Unlike Intel, where you get a new socket with new architecture.

From what i've seen the 2500K will be 229.99 and overclock to about 4.6Ghz. There have been ones that have hit 5.2 on air already. I'm not sure a X6 even clocked at 4Ghz could keep up with a 2500K at 4.6 or even 4.8

Do you guys know about Camelegg? It's a Newegg price tracking site. If you want to find out at what price you should jump on some hardware (if you don't need it right away) then Camelegg can tell you.

Note that it isn't perfect. I think I was looking for some USB WiFi adapter and they didn't have it listed, but I know it has been selling on Newegg for many months.

Sure there is a point...I like amd 😎. Besides that, I don't like intel motherboard pricing, nor do I want onboard graphics, nor limited overclock options. I also like the idea of having six cores. I still think for alot of things like vms, encoding etc the six core amd setups make alot of sense I know right now amd is the underdog, but they are still hard to beat from a price to performance standpoint especially when you look at the cheaper quad cores.

Everyone is getting all excited about sandy bridge, but 90 percent of those people won't be interested in anything other than showing off a benchmark score. Not many people nowdays are needing more than most modern quad cores can offer. The other thing is, sandy bridge stuff will be limited for awhile, teething issues, high in price, and better sandy bridge boards are coming out in a few months so whoever jumps on the wagon will be outdated by newer stuff right?

Anyway for the record I'm not going to pay 275 bucks for a 1090t 😛 I will buy a quad core before that happens. I think where amd shines right now is the 200 dollar and below sector.
 
I'm not following you? I see one person that linked the price of the 1100t, I'm not going to purchase it at that pricepoint either. Newegg charges me tax which kills any deals there for me compared to other places 90 percent of the time. It's a better deal though and includes a giftcard so I'm not seeing how this is the reason the 1090 is higher now or why anyone would purchase a 1090t from newegg with their screwed up pricing...I was looking at the 229.00 price on amazon, and I am certainly not going to spend over that amount. I will wait a week or so till sandy bridge is released and see what pricing does then
 
interesting...the 1090T BE is back down to $229.00 shipped at Newegg again. that certainly was a strange 2-day price hike. 😕
