Have you tried OCing that bad boy? Should have been called a 3600 as you can see by the test results... Anyway I've seen guys hitting 2.6 on default Vcore...default HSF.

As I understand from the Oct 1 review on memory, the 754 is faster with one ram dimm, but slower than the 939 socket with two sticks of ram. Below is a comment from that article.

"As you saw in our DFI LANParty UT nF3-250Gb: Overclocker's Dream review, the 754 is capable of incredible performance. It is even capable of outperforming the newer 939, since base performance is only about 5% higher for the 939. However, this usually requires the use of one DIMM. Overclocking performance with 2 DIMMs on 754 is normally poorer than 2 DIMMs on 939. While there are many reasons to buy 754 for value and performance, future development will revolve around the 939 socket and dual-channel memory. "
 
Will AMD's 754 have a PCI-Express lineup? No, its as far as I have looked I haven't seen any information that socket 754 wil ever have PCI-Express. The lifeline of the 754 doesn't seem that long, whats after newcastle? Nothing...

That doesn't really matter; it's the chipset/motherboard that would add support for PCIe, not the CPU. If the NForce4 (and whatever follows the K8T800 Pro) support S754, and someone makes a motherboard with them for it, they'll likely have PCIe. If not, they won't.

All they mean by that is you can run lower latency with one stick, sometines negating the advantage of dual channel running at higher latency. It has nothing to do with the review I posted showing the 3400NC creaming both the 3500 and 3400 clawhammer. Superior processor Speed of the 3400NC accounts for it's superior performance...after all they ran two sticks at the exact same timmings thoughout the review.

 
the fx 55 and 4000 will not be 90 nm, as amd can only get them to about 2.5-2.6 stock now even if they pick out the better ones form the 90 nm batch. it's nice to see the hundred dollar price drop on the fx 53 for locking its multiplier. amd is finally getting their 130 nm process mature for the hammer cores too. no way in hell any of the bartons or early hammers could get near 3.0 on air.
