must you intel fanboyz forget that intel is using a pr rating of their own as we speak, just take a look at their procs. the have a 1.6ghz, a 1.6A, and a 1.6B. so wtf.
What the heck are you talking about? 1.6 = Socket 423 Willamette. 1.6A = Socket 478 Northwood. 1.6B? Never heard of it. The "A" is just to differentiate between Northwood and Willamette.

Thats what I thought. I never read nor heard nor saw a 1.6B anywhere.

When looking at otehr P4s you can see what the A and B are. Like the 2.4A is 400MHz FSB, the 2.4B is 533MHz FSB. I havnt ever seen a 1.6B but I would assume its the same.

And about PR ratings. Eventually if everyone adopts them, what in the hell are you going to base your PR off of? I cant wait to see PRs based off the competitions PR

Everyone seems to forget the athlon 64 has the integrated memory controller, this will be what gives the real performance boost, not the 64bit capability. I like the idea of low latency because in certain applications (i.e real time intelligent robots), low latency is more important then raw processing power.

Just to clear up the 'a' and 'b' designations on the P4's...

'a' was used to designate between a Willamette and Northwood, when the clockspeed overlapped.
'b' was used to designate between a Northwood with a 400mhz FSB and one with a 533mhz FSB.

For example:

P4-1.6 = Willamette
P4-1.6a = Northwood
There was no P4-1.6b, since a 533mhz FSB version was never released.

P4-2.4 = Northwood w/400mhz FSB
P4-2.4b = Northwood w/533mhz FSB
There was no P4-2.4a, since a 2.4ghz Willamette was never released.

(Did that even make sense? :) )

That has lead to the fact the amd rartings at one time were really conservative and now to the point they are overly ambitious...

As mentioned, this is for Joe Average (JA). But this same JA asks then (after he starts to read computer papers and surf on tech sites and finds WCPUID) that he was said that he is buying an 1700 MHz processor, but in fact it is an 1,47 GHz version (the reseller wouldn't tell this to JA, would he?)

As for the bubble comment.....Once again byou little arse I can care less about AMD's schedule...I wait to judge things when they are out and reviewed. Don't act high and mighty to me....

Can you can try to controll your anger, boy? You had to make a personal statement? Fvck yourself, your Intel bias makes me puke, you get called on your badly informed views and you b!tch like a stuck pig.

Deal with it, fool.

I called you a little arse cause you are too stupid to have a conversation with.....You took it to the personal level when you felt you needed to play superiority with your bubble comment when I have repeated said I can care less about amd and their use of the pr rating.....I come in and hit a sensitive nerve with the PR rating eventhough the author of this thread was interested in this and agrees....

INtel bias...Hahahaha....

You stupid moron!!! I have repeated gave ppl advice to buy amd systems...I have current thread to help me find amd laptops at the high end level...The only biased one is you....your asscheeks make nice earmuffs on you!!!
