Would be interesting to see how it does on SETI too.
Good to see DPAD already in🙂

I look forward to the results!😎

Stephen
That reminds me ,when the F@H race is over I'll have to benchmark my new quad in DPAD & get me name a little higher up that graph😀

who did you get your board thru?
I can't find a decent etailer that has it in stock.

Don't know if they are decent.

i already knew about them... but then I started reading some of the reviews from around the web.... and I turned and ran... really fast and really far.

I'm sorry, I can't help you, I live in Europe

RAC: ?? If I ran it 24/7, I would be ranked 15th on the "top hosts" ranking.

This RAC however doesn't reflect the real crunching power in Boinc Combined since Rosetta's credit systems awards lower credits/h than most of the other projects!

EDIT: I need to recheck the scores!

Newegg has a Gigabyte AM2+ MB (link). They also have limited quantities of the CPUs.

I just got the asus board from mwave, they just got it in stock.

I'm not too pleased with the results, I get 1880ppd in WinSMP on Vista x64.
It's a nice improvement compared to the X2's anyway, I'll try it in linux vmware later this week!

**** DPAD Muon1 ****
698.16 kpts/s in the benchmark

Dam, that's too bad about the f@h results. My x2 6000+ @3.3ghz gets 1300ppd

Re DPAD ,is that using a single client or 1 client/core?
How long did you run it for?

Re F@H ,how do you know what your PPD is?

Ah yea I saw that ,only thing is on mine its monitoring both the GPU & CPU client so I don't know what the CPU alone is doing.Currently its stating 2874PPD 🙂

I guess I could shut off the GPU client for a while but then I'd lose output ,how long would it need to be off for to get accurate stats?

Thats a shame. That is slower than the older Athlons. 🙁

that's weird, ... I will check the results again.

I only ran 1 client for this, but I heard it wouldn't be as efficient as running 4 clients.

the agena x4 9500 is running at 2.2 ghz no? while brisbane x2 4200 is running at 2.2ghz

according to the chart here a x2 4200 gets ~462.8 mpts/s

so thats 2 cores producing 462.8 = 4 core brisbane =925.6 if scaled exactly
and 4 core agena producing 698.16

man thats not a good performance increase

wow, that is very close to a 1:1 scaling for clock speed with phenom vs x2. 1300 ppd = 650 per core at 3.3. 1880 ppd = 470 ppd per core at 2.2. 470x1.5= 705 ppd theoretical output with perfect scaling for a phenom at 3.3. not even close to what I had expected. 🙁

the 462.8mpts/s value is certainly not benchmarked with only 1 client running, this beats my 4600+ (overclocked @ 2.7Ghz)

Hmm... I guess the chart is only as honest/accurate as the person submitting the result. Most times the user will say if the chip is overclocked and it will reflect it on the chart. 😕

damn, not much upgrade over my dual core optys either. If I run the SMP in vista x64 I am getting 1760ppd. This is with 2-270's both stock clocking of 2ghz

Huh? oh you mean the X2s ,lol I thought you meant thunderbirds for a moment😉

Does depend how the benchmark was done (re my question).

Philippart
Yea 1 client per core is quite a bit faster.

waffleironhead
Was that X2 4200 benchmarked using 1 or 2 clients?

Re accuracy of benchmarks ,for a person to get himself on the charts they are supposed to post the log of the benchmark program showing at least a 12hr run along with all the h/w specs & client setup. That's pretty much held up except for 1 occasion where I posted just a 'non final' score for my C2D & Stephen put it in anyway😕 ,but it was pretty accurate anyway AFAIK.I think it went in because it filled in a gap of clock speeds.

Lets hope the Phenoms aren't that bad!:Q

I should be getting my phenom up in the next couple of days... i'm just waiting for my motherboard and powersupply... then we can get a second look on a different system... but the thing is, I just run seti on my systems. I haven't gotten into running much else.

Yeah, I meant the 'older' Athlons in my sig. Meaning that they are 939 X2's. Not AM2's.

I know how many clients you run makes a difference, but those results really surprise me. Doesn't seem to make sense. 😕

Update:
F@H:
When I run 2 linux SMP clients I get around 2600ppd!!

EDIT: there's something wrong with the rosetta score, update coming soon!
