Are you referring to the TLB Errata bug?

It's a completely subjective point of view but I've lost faith for AMD for the time being. The L3 bug was one, the limited clock speed, the delays...

Why would you want to buy one now when they're only going to get better in 2008 at a competitive price? Q6600 still sounds like a better buy and has been out on the market longer. It's in the growth stage, while the phenom is still in the introduction phase.

It's just a terrible marketing position for AMD for desk top users. You can partially blame it on Intel's price war, but it's mostly AMDs execution.

unfortunately, the 9600 @ 245 is still a worse buy than the Q6600.

True, although the 9500 at $200 is a much better buy. 100MHz is not worth $45.

In fact I would say that, at stock speeds, the 9500 beats the Q6600 in price/performance. Obviously overclockers would still favor the Q6600.

you think they will keep the same prize with the b3 stepping? then it will be much
more interesting

I hope so! If they charge more for a 9550/9650 that would be a farce... they would essentially be saying: "Here, buy our bugged chips at a discount".

Not a good reputation for a top tier CPU company.
