Glad everyone made up :)

I suggest a quick round of 'spider solitaire vs. orginal solitaire' to really bring out some nasty flames ;)

EDIT: rather a silly thread IMHO- a perfectly accurate, unbiased and fair answer could go something like this (on current top models~fx-55 & 3.8Ghz respectively):

@ heating your room-intel
@gaming-amd
@encoding-intel
@making money-intel
@increasing competition in the cpu marketplace-amd
@advertising-intel
etc
etc

That is why I asked the most recent question about the AMD vs. Intel competition. I know that the FSB speed is one of the most important components, if not the most important, to computer speed. So I asked to see if Intel was able to suprase AMD. If there had been no increase in the FSB with Intel, this conversation would not be taking place. I know what the obvious answer would be. So I was specific in what I was saying. I wasn't asking a plain AMD vs. Intel question. I am done with this bs bickerign as well.

I think that is actually the complete opposite, I though the X800 won in tests like 3D mark 03 and stuff but didn't perform well on open GL based games and games "tuned for Nvidia Cards". Though like how the tuning works, HL2 seems to like the X800 more so probably because of the whole being sponsored crap.

that's like going into p&n and asking who's better, reps or dems?

1. this is a predominately amd fanboy site, so that's the answer you'll get.
2. the only other question that uproots more contention is:
"what's better, islam or christianity?"
3. and if you've actually done your homework, within the confines of this site, you'd see that amd is the gamer's cup of tea, but there are grey areas about which one's better:

First, we all know R's are better :D

Second, I think that even more controversial than your #2 point would be: Coke or Pepsi?

Frankly, I don't see the controversy in #2, since we all know Coke is better, and not just because it has 45mg of Caffeine compared to Pepsi's 37mg: http://www.4eatsmart.com/caffeine/cafchart.htm Then again, I mostly drink Diet Coke at 47mg anyway. See what growing up when Jolt Cola was first introduced will do to you?

Noob, The performance increase of intel P4 CPU with 1066 FSB is negligible you can watch AT benchmarks and even tomshardware benchmarks(this page is PRO intel), so AMD is still winning in 80% of the tests, considering even the synthetic benchamrks(No real world performance tests that I NEVER take in account) where intel wins. I think this should answer your question.

that is correct. the increase of fsb from 800mhz to 1066mhz is roughly a 1% increase, give or take .10%. as for the extreme edition 3.46ghz one, that is easily beaten by the P4 3.8ghz proc. suprisingly, intel's so called best is beaten by their lower class cpu's. :)
