Either system will work just dandy. Personally I'd take A64 as I think it will have a longer lifespan than p4's. Meaning, A64 rigs will be acceptable long after P4 rigs are considered obsolete.

Kinda moot... until Mircrosoft puts out a desktop 64bit OS, many years down the road. Both AMD's and Intel's current line-up will be obsolite. Unless he runs a linux 64bit OS and programs/games, there is no way Intels current line-up will be obsolite in the next three years.

No, apparently, willfreund is the only one buying wooden processors. I have no idea where he gets these things. He must be special. *cough*

"many years down the road" is rather a large overstatement, don't you think? Most of us are already running XP64, and while the six month delay on the Gold release is frustrating, it's not THAT bad...

only a moron would buy a EE and guess who the moron was? Felix...

I wasn't actually talking about 64 bit. I was just making the statement that the A64 design is pretty obviously going to outlast the p4 design. Meaning, you will have Pentium 5's (or whatever Intel calls it's next chip) competing against A64's.
