If a stable system is your number one requirement I have to recommed Intel. Nothing is more stable than an Intel P4 with an Intel chipset. NOTHING! I know AMD makes some good cpu's, but even AMD fanboys can't argue that Intel CPU + Intel Chipset = stability. :D

AMD CPU + AMD Chipset = stability as well.
ARE YOU LISTENING, AMD?
I'm all for AMD, but while this current VIA board is a dream, I'd love them to make competitive chipsets. I'd be willing to bet things like lowering the clock in cases of overheat, auto-shutdown on overheat, etc. would become standard *overnight* if they made a chipset who's reference board used them.
Can't beat the SiS chipsets, of all things, for the Athlons (it wasn't that long ago that we'd consider such a comment blasphemy :)). They have gotten 3rd parties to make good chipsets, but the road was too long (it wasn't until the KT266a and SiS735).

<-- wants a L7S7A2 as soon as they hit the states.

Friends don't let friends buy Intel,,,,,, Just a joke I build both and a AMD system is just as stable as a Intel system,

My Via/Tbird system is more stable than my Intel845/P4. But I love them both :)
