Intel 4 Life :)

Last august i was going to buy a 600mhz P3 CuMine for ~$350. I never did, but soon I can buy a P3 1Ghz for ~$250. And I agree with whoever it was that said that Intel is the way to go for DAW. I'm in the process of starting up a Digital Audio workstation everything i see is "For Windows platform with Intel Processor"

Anyway, AMD may be great at games, but isn't the best in everything. One of the best things about competition is the tables always turn repeatedly and prices DROP like no other.

<< Let me state this Again even if it wasn't any faster I know for a fact that in games It s alot smoother. I'm not being my normal Zealot here I'm telling you this thing is awesome at Quake 3 and UT. >>

Yeah, and my Classic 650 is awesome at Q3A and UT too... ;)

<< As far as AMD sitting on there butts they better get moving because Intel isn't playing no games here there pulling out the stops and gunning to retake the market with a vengence !!!!!! >>

Uuuuuhhh... I'll just keep my money invested in AMD ;)

<< JoeDaddy If AND meets the Price drop by those margains you can bet that we will see them Bankrupt by years end. >>

Again NOS you pretty obviously show that you have no idea what you are talking about. AMD can live off their FlashRAM business alone and still make money... they don't even have to sell a single cpu.

I can imagine... I reckon MS and Intel either gives them $$$ driectly for writing that garbage or they compensate them in some other way (assign manhours for optimizing their product for them)
It does not mean that it is incompatible with any AMD cpu nor nessecerely mean that it will run slower on an AMD cpu. (in fact I'd suspect the opposite cos the K7 FPU is pretty strong even when running unoptimized code)

Have you checked out lately which CPU domintates in stuff like 3DSMax, and prof. openGL rendering? I think you may find the result surprising ;)

NOS440: I'm beginning to think that all you write here is a big clever joke and you write intentionaly total BS... Are you making fun over Intel's propaganda ? I mean, you can't take seriously all that "hail to Intel", "My great beloved Intel will one day rule the world" and "AMD/Cyrix/SUN/Alpha/MIPS or whoever challenges Intel is BAD BAD BAD AND WILL BURN IN HELL!!!!!!! (<- lot of exclamation marks to make it would be even more absurd)" stuff ? If you keep saying that Intel is SUPERIOUR and so much better than AMD (cut-paste form Intel's promo?) then, please, tell me exactly HOW and WHY are P3/P4/whatever-Intel-makes better processors than anything else... So you are kidding, right ?

I think you failed miserably to catch my point, which was that both of us can make statements like that, but neither really has any value since they're merely expressions of our subjective opinions which have already been previously established on this discussion.

That was before... you have no clue about what is going on with AMD in a business level. Their future existance is secured through the flash business. AMD is the worlds largest flashram supplier. A market that has been in rapid growth mainly because of hand held devices such as celphones and alike. I can bore you with a couple of graphs if you like...? :)

Exactly. AMD's business future is extremely sound, and will only get better as they introduce their new processors and gain more market share. And their stock is still way undervalued :)

Very much indeed. That's why I've picked up as much of it as I could afford (being a poor student however it really isn't all that much :D)

Naa zephyr I believe you but if CPU sales went to nothing I still say they would be in a world of hurt.

Also I hope the stock thing works for ya buddy but the tech market can go either way ya never know

Any stock in any sector can go any way at all, but for a tech stock, and even in general, AMD is a very good buy. It trades at a much lower P/E (profit/earnings) ratio than almost all other stocks, and certainly well below the average in the tech sector. They also have fast growing earnings, and are already making good money.

I wonder if we've reached 1K posts alltogether in all our small encounters over the past year? :D
nah probably not..

Yes ofcourse they would, but I doubt they'd go in red again.

Thanks :) I feel pretty safe cos I brought back from before the split. It was really just for pranks so I could call myself an investor *LOL* might come in handy with a little cash stashed away in stocks some day though :D

BTW speaking of stocks.. maybe one should pick up some in that company that makes SOI.. they're trading very low, but they'll rocket when/if they announce signing deals with AMD/motorola. Too bad I don't really have much to invest right now.
