What are your temps at stock? I'm getting 38 idle and 42 load, which seems a little high. Probably has somthing to do with the fan only running at 1200rpm.

Thats running better than mine. I get 42-44 when only one core is loaded full tilt. Another instance of Prime bumps it up 10C.

I'm getting 38 idle too. But unfortunately XP is being a pain in my neck, so I haven't been able to test this guy out yet. I need to create an XP boot CD and am having trouble with it. (this copy of XP has never been able to load itself, I've used floppy's in the past, but don't have a floppy drive I can use.)

Haven't really had time to stability test it much yet, but appears to be stable @ 2.6 w/ 1.44 volts. ~40 idle, ~45-50 load (with stock fan on max speed).

Edit: Currently 1hour, 51 mins stable in Prime @ 2.6 w/ 1.46. CPU temps are 30 idle and 50 load.

I have (2) 270s with same stepping and date....I want to move them over to an Nvidia mobo I can OC with..AMD 8131 wont work with any clockgen type of program...

I am hoping to at least get 2.4ghz at default vcore...make them 280's really fast...

do you guys use MBM5 (motherboard monitor) to keep any eye on temps? i use MBM5 but i always have a feeling it's not that accurate

I just use the DFI ITE Smart Guardian that came with my MOBO.

My CPU temps have stayed around 30-32 all day, but I haven't started to OC yet.

I believe DFI say NOT to use that utility. I wouldn't reconmend it; all the dfi-street boys reconmend MBM5 with custom board settings, or speedfan; MBM5 is the favorite though.

I double checked and the DFI mobo is what had it. Why does the DFI MOBO come with it if they don't like it?

But I am using MBM5 now and it is very nice.

Not good to say 'As noted in sig.' simply because if someone does a search and you've changed your CPU; the data is gone.
In case that happens, here it is for the above poster.
AMD Opteron 165 CCBWE 0604TPMW @2.5Ghz (9X278) w/ 1.33Vcore

06XX CPUs generally have been the best of the bunch, rivaling the 0550's.
[Not the CCB1E 055X VPMWs, mind you. But still quite good ;)]
