Now that mobile Pascal is out, you can get a better VR experience from a laptop than AMDs desktop parts

This, and I've reported it.

Reported for what cause exactly? I posted an image created by the author of the article and posted by him on his forums.

No one would think that is from the review itself, but it does show how the author thinks.

If you actually wanted to show what he thought, you'd have posted the link to the forum thread. And since you think he has no idea what "Premium VR" means, when there are a few other cards that are better, explain what it means? I can only guess it means that it can deliver a good VR experience, but if that is the case, he'd be right in thinking the 4 cards that do it better are more premium. This is what lead to him making it in that order. Maybe I'm missing something here. Enlighten me.

It's already been discussed multiple times in this thread what AMD was referring to Premium VR as PC based VR, not console, phone / tablet / etc.

I did post a link to the image afterward, but considering his post was only the image itself, doesn't really mean much and just gives them more ad revenue for page hits.

Funny that you are able to put words in my mouth / show what I thought by your callout post yet accuse me of doing the same.

I never actually said anything about you creating that picture, but I did think it. The whole post would still fall under the category of you doing your thing as you do every day, which is find a way to discredit anything that doesn't post AMD in the best possible light.

As to the link, do you really expect someone to listen to an hour long video for that information? It's all marketing anyway. And even so, if the 480 is a Premium VR experience in the sense it allows PC quality VR, that does not change that better cards would be more premium.

Edit: And just a note. I don't think that the results of 4 VR games is the end all of reviews. We've just got started, and a lot of things can change, but this is what we have seen so far.

Who knew that quoting the author is discrediting them.

So you can quote AMD as having said its Premium VR, but can't bother to put the quote into context? I dunno about you, but I like sources and facts. I even linked you to where they talked about VR which is 4 and a half minutes in, and it doesn't last a full hour.

I don't really buy the "premium just means PC" crap.

It's a discrete GPU, where the hell else am I going to use it? My phone?

What consumer is going to know that premium = PC? The five who watched that video you linked? They used that word for a reason, and that reason is to paint their cards as providing a great VR experience. Which they apparently don't.

I'm going to start a line of Premium Beef products. They're awful, but compared to cat food they are premium as hell.

You quoted a forum graphic which missed a lot of context, including what he quoted. Everyone who followed assumed that was his leader board, which clearly shows it lacked context.

I didn't try to put it into context, because a 55 minute video for the context is not worth my time (sorry I said 1 hour, instead of 55 minutes, or was that 54 minutes. I clicked the link and saw the time, then closed it). But even after reading your quote, I didn't see how thinking that the better cards are "More Premium".

I'll move on. I'm clearly getting baited here. I simply was trying to correct several posts that followed the "quoted leader board", as being the real leader board.

Btw, for those who still don't quite get the "Premium VR card", try reading it as "A card for Premium VR devices". The way I read every quote was that Premium was describing the card or experience, when Premium is describing the devices the card would power. Devices such as the Vive and OR.

I'm not familiar woth any of the Phone VR implementations. Do they have issues with reprojection?

I don't know whether they do or not. Since they're on phones, I doubt that they have the processing capability to avoid it.

Phones do VR with simplistic games at 60fps so it's an easier target, and I do believe they have support for syncrhonous timewarp and async timewarp.

It helps that there's very few HW configs and that they have influence on the design with samsung. Having mobile VR be the main focus of John Carmack probably doesn't hurt either.
