Yup...I saw that earlier. They attribute it to "motherboard makers familiar with Intel's latest roadmap". I just didn't weigh it very strong compared to Intel's own roadmap (similarly to when HKEPC said AMD quad cores wouldn't be out till 08 "according to mobo makers familiar with the roadmap" while AMD was saying Q2 07).

Of course I understood that part. What I didn't get was how your theory about AM2 not taking quad core would be more logical than the opposing one. Everything we've seen so far pretty much points to AM2 taking quad core CPUs.

Everything out there seems to point to AMD releasing the desktop version of Rev.B (K8L) at around the same time as Intel's Yorkfield. Barcelona and the like should hit the market before that, but they won't be the desktop versions of the chip.
