I have a chaintech vnf4 ultra running a amd64 processor, and in addition to the 24pin power connector on the mobo, there is a 4 pin square power connector. Is this the 12V connector? I thought that was for Intel P4's only. Obviously it's required b/c it won't boot up unless I connect it, but I was wondering what it was exactly.

Thanks

Yeah, basically. I think (but am not entirely sure) that it was optional on Athlon XP's though. (Not that I really want to disconnect mine and find out 😛)
