I just ordered some parts to put together an AMD system. I got a white enermax case, 3 red LED fans, an Abit... NF7 motherboard, and an AMD 2500+ Barton, as well as 512mb Corsair 3200LL. My question is, While the CPU and board are rated at 333fsb (i think) can I turn them up to 400fsb to match my ram? I mean, AMDs are all about overclocking, right? Also, what kind of heatsink should I get to put on this bad boy? Is the stock one any good?

A cheaper solution would be an SK-7... keeps my XP2500 below 50 C (actual core temp taken from thermal diode) with a 70mm 4000 RPM fan. I don't think the SLK-800 will mount to an Opteron or Athlon-64 will it? If not, no sense in spending more money on that one when an SK-7 will do the job just fine for your XP2500 and won't be able to be used with AMD's new line of CPU's.

Will it fit on my motherboard? I've heard people say that certain one's won't fit on AMD motherboards?

Well... a P4 heatsink won't fit on an AMD motherboard... but that's obvious. Some motherboards have capacitors and whatnot too close to the CPU socket that interfere with the heatsink... however, I have PLEANTY of room around my SK-7 on my A7N8X Deluxe.

I like how you called it the 'mighty' abit... that made me feel smart. So an SLK 800 will go on both my Abit IC7-G and my Abit NF7?
