Yes, but even that extends to Intel CPUs as well so it would still be wrong to single out AMD.

True.... Extreme overclocking without adequate (sometimes even with adequate) cooling will kill a processor quickly 🙂

Wrong. Some of the original P4 NW overclockers here can attest to the fact that performance degradation can be the effect of overvolting.

To elaborate, it eventually required more voltage to maintain a lower overclock and could get to the point that it required overvolting just to run stock speed. The CPU worked but it's performance went south.

At least it takes its time to become slow, the Prescot is already slow before you turn it on for the first time.
