True.... Extreme overclocking without adequate (sometimes even with adequate) cooling will kill a processor quickly 🙂
It won;t slow it down, it will just die in that case, so he's still dead wrong.
To elaborate, it eventually required more voltage to maintain a lower overclock and could get to the point that it required overvolting just to run stock speed. The CPU worked but it's performance went south.
