I replaced my k6-450 with the K6-III+ o/c'd @550(5.5x100@ 2.2v).
This chip routes 2.0x multiplier to 6.0x.Anyway....Q3 demo1 went from 38fps to 54fps on (unclocked)GForce MX. Does that help?

StatsMan, I have two "everything-in-one" Amptron\PCChip PM585LMR boards for each of my little girls. Amptron has the BIOS flash miscatergorized on their site, but PCChips has it easy to find; both have the same correct BIOS update, though, when you download it. The lowest voltage setting is 2.1 which is a true 2.14v. on the kids' boards. Got my second chip yesterday, installed it in less than 5 minutes and it was perfect at 600; will do 630, nada at 660.

Trifecta,

My Matsonic booted very easily at 2.0V 5.5X - first try..
It also ran for 24 hours at 2.1v 6x (use the 2x setting it maps to 6x). It began to crash on IE so I went back to 2.0V 5.5X. I never tried 2.2V

The board will only post to 550 but testing does show 600. My BIOS is dated 7/95 if you find a more recent version pls let me know.

I have some 128m PC133 memory on order so I would like to try a faster bus speed but as you said this board won't support it. I'm going to try 600 mhz again when I install the new memory. Currently I have 64m PC100.

I also have an Epox MVP3c. It's similar to the Matsonic in performance, but I haven't tried the K6-3 in it. (ANyone think I should?). You could buy a new board but for the investment why not move to the next generation technology? I'm just trying to squeze a little more life out of SS7.

CPU Mark was 55 at 600 and 50 at 550

ps According to SiSoft I went from 825MIPS, 471 MFLOPS with my K6-2 350 (@400) to 1451MIPS, 737MFLOPS with the new chip (@600).

My video card is an ATi Rage 8m.

You can look at my results including video at http://wintune.winmag.com/compare.asp. You'll need my e-mail address to look up. If interested let me know and I'll email it to you privately.

Good luck, let me know how you make out.
LarryF.

StatsMan is right. I posted in Amdzone about using Uart's program and it runs really fast now. I'm not sure yet whether it just enabled L1 cache or both L1 and L2. Will need to compare benchmarks with the others.
