This looks like a good price and it is advertised as new. However this outfit has a mediocre reseller rating.

this price is crap...

you can get these for so much less all over...

simply do a search on pricewatch.

I mean, cmon, we can find Duron 650's for that price!

This is what we would call ICE COLD DEAL AND PLEASE ERASE

Actually, NO, you can't get these for less than that all over- in fact, you can't get these for less than that AT ALL, given that the only other Known vendor of the k6-3+ looks to be out of stock at the moment! So while this might not be a hot price (though it's sure not a bad one!), it's still a deal!

Sure glad I got mine for $55 while pc liquidators had them. A definite improvement over the K6-2 550 I had. Using Wintune my scores went up over 35% and cpumark99 scores almost doubled. Well worth it if you're not ready to buy all the stuff for the socket A.

You can get a 650 Duron for that price and overclock it to 950 and be twice as fast !!! Spend the extra money on a mobo and get something that you can upgrade later.

You can still get the K6-III+ 450Mhz at PC Liquidators (and they claim that they will be available for some time) for only $54.99 plus shipping...

And Skoonen, they are .18 micron chips.

Tiger Direct has these for $49. If you have a super 7 mainboard that has updated BIOS, these can be a good little performer. They are .18 micro chips, which means they overclock really well. Many people run them at 550 and 600 MHz.

If you don't have a mainboard, or your mainboard doesn't have updated BIOS, don't buy this chip.

Biel, if you can't make a productive positive comment why even make one at all? This is a good deal and these only recently started going for $55.00 or less. One month ago these were going for like $199.00 on pricewatch. Also AMD4SPEED, will a Duron fit in my Socket 7 board? I think not, you are too narrow sighted. Some people are only looking to do a cheap upgrade to an existing socket 7 or Super Socket 7 board. I do agree though that if you want to do a motherboard upgrade then the Duron or T-Bird would be a better route to go.

Interesting...Tiger Direct has the K6-2 450 AND the K6-3+ 450 both for $49.99 each...I wonder if they actually know the difference between the chips? :)

Thanks for the tip, SimMike! I was going to buy one of these from PC Liquidators, but I might as well save $5 and get it from someone I've dealt with before.
