Are there any difference between the Laptop version and Desktop version of the K6-2?

I have a K6-2 300 Laptop that i hope to upgrade with k6-2 "something" from ebay if the two are compatible.
 
The mobile 300mhz in your notebook looks to be a low power skt7 100mhz 1.8v/3.3v 85C 9-10W from searching on it. That would mean another K6-2 series should work as long as the bios supports it. You should google your notebook model and see if there is a newer bios than the one you have. It appears PowerNow! started with the K6-2+ so finding info on what your notebook supports with the last bios that was released for it is the thing to do.
