True that. This deal isn't even warm, this is practically the everyday price you see on some of the more popular auction sites (*cough* e * b * a * y *cough*). Prolly isn;t even a real diff in shipping.

Now maybe it's just me, but I'd prefer to buy a processor from a fairly reputable business like PC Liquidator than an individual off an auction site.

Actually if you wanted a check MB with it you can get a SS7 MB with Video&amp;Sound with the 450mhz cpu w/HS&amp;Fan for $98 with decent shipping from Aaronix.Com if you go through pricewatch.

I know I can get a faster CPU, but the motherboards I needed to upgrade won't support faster CPU's. I even tried a 400 and it would not work.

I got the cpu's in this morning and they were a slam dunk!

I still think it was a good deal

you can buy the AMD K6-3 333mh from Fry's for $29 anyday.

They always have specials with this CPU and an FIC 2013 mobo for $79. Sometimes with a Soyo mobo for the same price.

This deal is for owners of a Socket 7 board, that may currently have a Cyrix or Intel P233 or less cpu, and no money to upgrade motherboards. It is not for owners of a Super Socket 7 board.

Regular Socket 7 boards, only support 66/75MHz FSB, and have limited multiplier and CPU voltage adjustments. They will not support the K6-III, or other high end K6-2's.

75x6=450MHz.

If after trying a 400MHz cpu fails, why would a 450 work?

Without a 100MHz fsb, these other cpu's are a waste.
