You didn't make a point. Ripping AMD's shameful PR tactics? Glass houses
So, let me get this straight... It's ok for you to "rip AMD's shameful PR tactics", but it's it's "unnecessary" and "unwarranted" when I do it?

Rather than bog down this thread... YGPM.

Hm, been using an Asus 845G for 11 months without a trace of a problem. The Epox one was sort of iffy, but that was Epox's fault.
I agree... My 4G4A+ had some memory issues, but my P4B533-V was flawless.

Good thing you didn't have Corsair XMS. The Asus 845G wouldn't even post with it. ALL 845G boards had reduced performance with intel infs and nVidia drivers. Not just EPoX.

I beleive there is a locked message at the top of this board that says "Do not post AMD vs. Intel threads here."

Draw your own conclusion about what is going to happen to this thread ;)

AMD can't change the application suite because it might (likely will actually) change the ratings of the CPU's.

It might change the ratings of their CPUs? Oh, so you mean the system has to be consistent from the 1500+ all the way to the 3200+, right? So...what's the clock difference between the 2000+ and the 2200+? 133mhz. What' the clock difference between the 2200+ and the 2400+? Oh...nearly 200Mhz. That's od. But...AMD can't do that. Unless of course it serves their interests. If it's fair, they won't go out of their way to do it.

Sorry, but Wigz is right.

Yall dont be hatin'! I had AMD, Intel, Intel, now AMD again. LEt the $#!+ exist, AMD doesnt urge you to buy it! And, on the performance vs. price index - AMD is an undisputed champ.

unless you go over a certain price point. At the high end Intel is the price/performance champ. On the low end, AMD. In the middle somwhere...a tie.

Again, a really great article by ed. Yesterday he wrote an article about NV35/256MB 9800 called "who's side are they on, anyway" which was quite insightful. This one is a little more shallow but I thought it might be of interst to the people of this thread.

Normally, this would be the case.

However, in 1000 unit quantities, the 3200+ is more expensive than the 3.0C

Nope.

I put the review on hold to make sure people could access the NV35 review, you'll see my take on the CPU later today...

Take care,
Anand

Alright Anand where is it? :p

9 P.M. here, I'll have to go to bed soon :D

Since when did overclockers make up a majority of the readers of hardware review web sites? I have three main systems right now, all of which are running at stock.

I crave good performance, but when it comes right down to it overclocking is overrated (though I find it fun on occasion :)) for what you get. Though this last statement is mostly MO.

I agree with you. I haven't overclocked (other than running benchmarks for bragging) since my P3-700 @ 1ghz.

An overclock from 1.5->1.7 GHz isn't too useful IMO, but going from 2 GHz -> 3 GHz is quite a substantial and definately worth it IMO.

Of course this all depends on how much performance you crave.

Hopefully it will be a dual review of the Athlon 3200+ and all the new Intel processors coming out tomorrow. If not then I'll be :brokenheart:.
