Apparently, "They" are getting less than 20FPS in CS:S with around the following specs:

3500+ AMD 64
7200 RPM Sata HDD
6800GT
1024mb DDR

Smells like BS to me as well...

I find it very difficult to believe that any P4 runs cooler then an A64.

Agreed. ATM The Dothan CPU cannot be beat for a mobile CPU. I wouldn't even consider anything else in a notebook.

I buy the best for the intended usage. ATi, nVidia, Intel, AMD. I have no "company" loyalty whatsoever. If anything, I'm "pro" performance. So if you want to label me anything, I'm a "performance fanboy" Is that a bad thing? Whomever has the best performance when I upgrade is the one that gets my dollars.

It's just that you're full of it if you're saying that a P4 runs cooler then an A64. :p

AMD has a better processor. It's faster, cooler, and generally cheaper than Intel's. AMD supports the Free and Open Source Software groups, Intel is downright hostile. AMD's AMD64 chips have NX, I get to spend way too much to get something like that from Intel.

Screw Intel. :)

Well accord to all the reviews I have seen, that it NOT true. Where are you getting your facts ? Link ???? Check YOUR facts. for one anandtech site states that the lowest running 6xx series was the 630 at 202 watts, and the HIGHEST AMD was the FX-55 at 162 watts. The equivalent amd to the 630 was 114 watts.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND STOP POSTING BS !!!!!

From my tests, the A64 and P4 are equal.

.........................................Pentium 4 660...... Athlon 64 4000+
Far Cry 1.3 (fps)....................43.1......................44.3
Doom3 (fps)..........................60.1......................62.1
Half Life 2 (fps).....................39.4......................40.1

Not to mention

It took not even 5 mins to transfer 20GB of files to a HDD. It would talke almost an hour on my AMD <yes ive done it before>

From a reliable source.

Anybody can post anything. I'd really like to see where any credible hardware site concurs with you.

Transferring the files from where to what hard drive? I'm assuming you're using the same hardware on both systems, minus the motherboard, processor, and ram.

Ummm... yeah... remove the video card as the limiting factor and retest... here's AnandTech's test results...

Even Tom's Hardware doesn't get the same results you did.

It's ok, we all had imaginary friends at one time. Personally, I got over that when I was about 6 or 7 though.

The problem you're having isn't that this board is "PRO AMD." It's that this board is "anti bullsh!t." Don't pull numbers out of your ass that contradict what EVERY reputable website has posted if you can't back up your rediculous statement.

that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. The HDD would be the limiting factor in file transfer, not the cpu! Any decent modern cpu can cope with file transfer! whayt are you comparing? a k-62 at 233mhz and a p4 at 3.6?

according to you:
intel has a sustained transfer rate of 66.6mb/s
amd has a sustained transfer rate of: 5.55mb/s
BUllSh*t. whoever built the amd system was probably too dumb to use the second ide controller and plugged the hdd as salve on the same cable as a cd-rom drive(and a slow one at that!)

come back when you have the same configured system before postinbg stupid stuff like this.

If you posted... (Intel being 10x slower)

It took not even 5 mins to an A64 transfer 20GB of files to a HDD. It would talke almost an hour on my Intel *yes ive done it before*

I would still say you're full of shit.

But hey, don't post anymore. I'm sure your BS will be much missed. :disgust:
