"Our testbed still runs Windows 2000 SP2, as most professionals and hardcore hardware enthusiasts prefer the matured Windows 2000 SP2. "

We do? Speak for yourself...🙂

<< I wonder why he didn't test a dual 2.4GHz Xeon rig? >>

Because there aren't any available...

You need to tell that to Acme Micro in Fremont, CA because they've had them in stock for almost a week now. When I was in there last Tuesday they had a couple dozen in stock, just wish I had $1500 to buy a pair of them. In fact that?s where I learned Intel made a 2.4GHz Xeon in the first place 🙂

Pricewatch.com comes up with nothing when I search for "Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz Xeon Processor" and Acme Micro's site doesn't list any 2.4GHz Xeons either.

If they're available at all, they're in very limited quantities...

"At a later date when Hypertreading has matured and the price of the Xeons is lower, we will include them as well. "

At present it isn't practical for a small buisiness to shell out 750$ per P4 and then buy 4X512 for the server..

theres the hassle of upgrading... what do i really get for reinstalling my OS? i get to turn off the cartoony interface then figure out how to puy "my computer" back on the desktop.

so yeah, i'm lazy.
