my cpu is running 55c idle and 62-63c w/ prime95(15mins) running atm

so my question is... i have a 92mm fan, do i "always" want it as output(blowing out of case) and not input(blowing into my case)

so ya... lmk will reply with more info as needed/requested.

well this is what happened..

its in a dell case made for intel p3's lol

and we allknow the p3's ran much cooler then amd 1800+'s

setup gigabyte mobo, amd 1800xp cpu, cable clutter = none by the cpu fan its all in one side. 1 case fan blowing in... (not sure if i'm suppose to do in or out)

the room temp upstairs might also might be an issue but i havent ran any temp checks in the room itself.

prime has been running for about 45mins @ 61c with the side door off.

It is running within spec... but it sounds like your heatsink is horrible. I'd leave it the way it is though unless you start having heat related problems. Lots of people will tell you your CPU running at 63 degrees C is a problem... but I say it's not, and so does AMD.

For future reference... Thermaltake sucks =) Volcano 6 is junk... not much better than the Retail heatsink/fan you get with new processors.

Spend another 5-10 and get an SK-7 from Thermalright... can't go wrong with that... it'll cool anything you can put under it.
