This is the drill!!! Purchase amd chip,good price huh,well then you buy a heatsink fan combo that will cost you another 50 bucks to keep it from going up in flames,lol,then you buy a mainboard with via chipset and look 3 days for drivers that will keep your os runnin,lol,then you find a sound card that works with your new amd system also,hehe,then an external probe so you know your chip isnt on the verge of nuclear meltdown,lol,then when all said and done you brag about how stable and cheap your amd system is,question?,should i build an amd system,lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,oh i forgot,those amd chips sure are cheap!!,hehe,food for thought!!!,oh yea one more thing,i hear they are giving away fire extinguishers with all amd chips now!!!

You must not be to bright. You can not even use proper sentence structure. No wonder it took you three days to find drivers. Has for myself, I can get a amd or intel system up adn running in the same amount of time. And both systems will be stable. Any of my customers have been very happy with their systems.
 
That was unnecessarily hard to read. I like the run-on sentence punctuated with "lol."

$50 heatsinker and fan are for people that extreme overclocker
i use retail version of amd cpu, it come with fan and heatsinker
if it take 3 day to find the driver for via chipset, then you are not very smart, average computer user ( included 3yr old), can find it in less then 5 minute
Sound Card problem with Creative Labs, same thing also happen with intel 815.
and you damn right when i buy amd system that cost less then your intel and perform the same or better. I WILL BRAG

It's Via's headaches not AMD. I love the performance of Athlons with their powerful FPU that crunches all my games pretty good. But I hate the core that chips and breaks all the time.
 
I was actually pretty skeptical of the whole AMD thing myself until last nite. I built a pretty beastly rig which was giving me no end of headaches until some knowledgable guys on the forum here helped me out. It was WAY cheaper than a comparably performing Intel box. And it's frickin sweet, no doubt. I was very fearful of AMD systems, how finicky they reputedly are, but I am a believer now. Lighten up, pal; it's not as tough as it appears.
 
As previously pointed out, this thread is clearly flame bait. This guy is either busting on people who choose AMD or is trying to portray those who choose Intel as being stupid. Lock soon in coming...

please use punctuation if you want anyone to read your post and dont bash amd cuz ther cool and ur just too stupid to build a computer and should just get one from a big oem and pay a lot more for a slower comp u need to get a life too cuz flaming will only get u banned btw ur ratings are enabled and everyone is giving you 1 ratings cuz u suck and u bash amd and dont know what u r talking about and u probably bash winxp too k bye

I think his spacebar melted from the nuclear meltdown caused by the super, duper hot AMD CPU.
