I didn't read through the whole thread, but from what I saw it looks like this is just one card?

*edit - I see another guy mentioned he got one when overclocking his memory too far.

One guy with a 4850 or something mentioned haveing it happen to him like 5 times over 1year+ of use, I figour, reboot pc and play on.

1 guy with a 6950 said he had it happend to him once..... meh.
Has he overclocked his card? useing a hacked bios? no info in that reguard.

You sure love makeing posts like these wreckage about Amd cards.

Best not to indulge him and let the thread tumble to the second page.

OP this is pretty childish of you. Actually one cannot come to these forums and find nice, clean and informative discussions anymore because people are creating negative threads about hardware they don't like.

Mods please do something and lock this. Pretty boring now

Do you have nothing better to do? Are you serious? This has FLAMEBAIT written all over it. Are you dating Jen-Hsun Huang or something? I just can't figure it out. Why dont you post something constructive for a change.

You don't understand, this is his calling in life---spending every waking moment scouring the internet for the most obscure and isolated problems on any ATI/AMD video card and then taking the time to trumpet how bad ATI/AMD cards are and make sure everyone knows about it. It's quite obvious considering the theme of his numerous Chicken Little AMD postings. Just done for your safety.....and for the children.

Or it could be considered trolling by a fanboi.....up to you to decide.

I once had a 8800GTS 640 that would blue screen and give driver stopped errors!! Better avoid nVidia altogether. 😛

Carry on. 🙂

I see no difference between this and the "nV drivers cause games to perform worse" thread.

Edit: Or the "570s dying from ocing" thread. WTF is going on in this forum with these garbage threads?

I guess you have to keep them all open or lock them all.....

The difference between this and the 570 thread is motive by the OP.

The difference between this and the driver thread is there is more valid, reputable sources and data presented - a statement from Futuremark backing up the OP as well as other tests. The driver-CPU issue is also consistent. Bad cards, faulty cards, BSODs, and GSODs are random events.

There is a difference between a one-off problem and a widespread issue.

You forgot the unlocking HD6950 BIOS causing death thread, if you're going down those lines.

Wow, so red team can post blatant threads ridiculing Green Team CEO, yet complain when valid posts of faults shows up on AMD hardware?....I didnt see 1 moan from Green on the 570 thread...WTF is going on?

This is a valid issue, the other was based on a "hacked" driver in a synthetic test.

Well done with the personal jab you did against me and MrK6 in the other thread, another infraction in less than two days!!! Record breaking!!!! I don't mind as you eventually will be banned again and we can breath peace in here, common keep going!!!

Riiiiiiight.....one guy seems to have a valid complaint, one is using the wrong drivers, and one explicitly states his was due to too aggressive OC'ing the memory and once it (the OC setting) was toned down a bit, the problem's disappeared.
