Wow! I thought it was outrageous when nVidia released Titan for a grand (although not surprised). AMD is going to trump that. They're marketing it like an expensive restaurant that doesn't put the prices on the menu. Really curious to see how this plays out.
The best PR stunt AMD could pull would be to give the card away for free with the game. You find out the final price of the card/game bundle is the same as the price of the game itself. That would be epic. What's four and a half mil amongst friends.

Not only would this menu lack prices, it would also lack the names and descriptions of the items that you can order. It would only be a list of numbers.

Logan is a Mobile phone chip thats expected to be almost as powerfull as a 8800 GTX
(one thats reeeeeeally memory bandwidth starved).
It could end up being almost as powerfull as a Playstation 3.
Yes it ll have cool features like OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenGL 4.4, DirectX 11, minor tessellation ability, and CUDA 5.0.
However that doesnt change the fact that its a mobile phone.
Maybe..... whos going to go up against Sony + microsoft?

Thanks for answering. It's obvious from your post why Sontin didn't. Saying that nVidia could have competed for the console contracts with a smartphone chip that's not even going to be available until next year is ridiculous, and I'm sure he knows it.
Tegra 4 is a heavy hitter that is about 1/4th of the performance of the 10 year old Xbox 360 GPU. Tegra 4: around 90Gflops, Xbox 360: around 240Gflops.
I for one do not understand why nvidia did not get console contracts for their Tegra 4 chip with these numbers. Surprising, really. I do lament the fact that the PS4 will not have a souped up version of Angry Birds designed for the Tegra 4.

There is no restriction with Android anymore. How are Sony and Microsoft competiting with this?
These chips not only mobile phone chips. They are expanding for different market segments.

Well like Sontin mentioned, the Tegra 4 is catching up. Since it is 1/4th of the performance of the 10 year old xbox 360, *maybe* tegra 5 will be 1/2 of the performance of the xbox 360.
Still, I hate that I won't get a souped up Tegra version of Angry birds for the PS4. I can't imagine why Sony would not choose Tegra 4 since it is 90Gflops.

Because android dude. The 90Gflop Tegra 4 wins because of android. And as an added bonus, as mentioned, Tegra 5 is projected to be HALF the performance of the xbox 360 GPU - which is a very clear improvement over Tegra 4's 1/4th of xbox 360 GPU performance.

I just dont see how a smart phone game, hooked up to a tv monitor, and haveing to buy a 3rd party controller..... is gonna compete with the overall experiance of a real consol.

OT - There are some awesome techs looking to push PC gaming forward; sound has fallen behind what it once was; EAX on 98 and XP was just damn awesome....
These days; sound in games sucks balls - hopefully this will push sound again and Mantle....unified API.....there's reason for the fudge and derailments..
