What happened to this thread... Hopefully it gets cleaned up, I went from reading a discussion about AMD chips frying (I think?) to ABT being the devil. Nice to know the attacks haven't stopped...
But thanks for the useless post to further derail the thread...
I thought you asked how it came about? then he answears, you and you say its just futher derailing?
Back to topic:
Nope...
this is about a chip thats like 7years old, back from ATI's days.
Appearntly:
Odd that while they make notebooks for multiple OEM vendors, only one OEM vendor was affected.
So one line of one product from a single OEM. Looks like a bad cooling solution on one design.
^ someone at Quanta’s made a Booboo.... probably ran a risky cooling solution, cut corners to save a few $.
Now their going for a desperate money grab, *hopeing* to pay for it.
Lets say you have a chip, you use a chip, in 20 differnt laptops designs (IMB model, Acer model ect).
It works in 19 of the laptops OEM designs,
but a few chips overheat, in the 20th OEM laptop.
Why did it work perfectly for the other 19 but not the 20th?
They went to cheap/lacks on cooling solution, for the 20th laptop design.
I hope this ends up going to court, if AMD is innocent (which it looks like),
and AMD not only wins in count, but counter sues.
