They probably left out a 1 - I'm sure it is supposed to be 128 streaming processors. If you look at this page, note the comparison between GX-420CA and GX424-CC - looks like a higher CPU clockspeed and lower GPU clockspeed.

Well it is a "design win" of sorts but there is no mention of any commitment for orders, so what does it really mean?

Very nice. Once PLEX releases their QNAP server app to work with AMD APUs it should be a decent little PLEX Server.

This little APU has a Passmark score of 2762, which is enough to transcode a single 1080p stream or a couple 720p streams. Maybe the next generation or two could replace my 6 core Windows based PLEX server?

What is that device going to do with 128SP? Transcoding is handled by entirely separate transistors isnt it?

Apparently QNAP allows VMs to be used:

So besides this route, what other options could make use of the 128 stream processors?

I am completely new to all the features modern day NAS provide.
Can this device be used as a server with several operating systems running under a virtual Machine ? Can it also run VMware player ?
I assume the disks are in a mirror/stripe (RAID 1+0) raid configuration ?

Would this not be handy for small business ?
A cheap server + UPS ?
