I cant believe they sold out. Must have only had 19 in stock. That is 19 fools parted with their money. A company that takes 5 years to strip out 50 mm^2 of execution resources only to turn around and stuff the empty space with slow as $*!t cache deserves to be carved up by a Gordon Gekko type.

What I don't get.... why Pay for a 8150 over a 8120?

From the reviews, they seem to O/C to almost the same if not the same in most cases.

Make sure you mark down the expense as charity to AMD.

See my Desktop?

I'm not in a position to be able to buy a new motherboard. I built it for BD with the CPU as a recycled part. (It goes back to my HTPC at stock)

Yes its power consumption sucks. But it will give me a lot higher O/C then I was able to get on a 1035T and will be an upgrade.

Because it has a higher model number. It's the same thing as the Phenom II X6 1055T and the 1090T, except the difference in the unlocked multiplier.

Why did you buy an FX-8120, if I may ask? It'll only be ~15% better than your Phenom II X6 1035T in multi-threaded, and you'll see very little difference in single-threaded, if any...

Why does it matter what he chooses to buy?

Because the 1035T belongs to my HTPC. The Sempron is a temp Chip.

the 1035T/5570 Combo can play 768p games on my 50" Plasma at Medium to High Settings. The sempron cannot.

oh tyler... oh tyler.

sadly it seems already deleted by the newegg police! "lucky there! LOL!"

"I got pulled over by the CPU Police for doing 4GH> in a 3.2 GHZ Zone"

That's amazing, long live fanboys.

I think that was actually a decent troll post. I was chuckling at the CPU Police line 🙂

Same statement that's always repeated when no good counterarguments are to be had. Perhaps because something like a 2500K or 2400 is better in overall performance? Seems fairly obvious.

Same thing I'll tell/ask people when they're making new systems.

I made a mistake, Not once will you see my Gloating about Bulldozer any post made today.

But to be fair, am I really going to notice 18 seconds different unzipping a file, or the 4 FPS at 1080p gaming? Its paper stats. I can live with it. Yes I hope there are improvements made.

I find people like Patrick funny. Earlier in that thread I stated I built 2-3 2500K gaming systems for friends.... know why? Because they knew crap about PC hardware and I thought it was the best choice for the money.

Yes I support AMD, but no... I wouldn't call me a "fanboy"

Were you going to use the FX for a gaming rig, or...? If so, too bad. :$

Your HTPC combo seems very interesting, though. The 1035T is fairly low power, and the HD 5570 is very low power too and better than Llano in GPU performance.

EDIT: you're gonna use the 8120 to replace your 1035T for your HTPC? Doesn't seem like a very good choice. It'll have considerably higher power consumption and heat output than the 1035T.

8120 is for the gamer..

1035T is for the HTPC 🙂

Sempron is for sale

I want the unlocked multi and higher clock speed in my Main Gamer.

Glad you can admit it. Sorry, but I always gotta rip on AMD/Intel "fans". It's so pointless. I'm completely neutral. I want the best gaming chip so I go Intel. Builds I do for basic tasks get AMD, or at least they use too. Probably not anymore with lower-end SB chips out.

You just might. 😉
