I've been hearing that AMD mobile CPU's run at lower temps --> better performance. I've upgraded my pc with a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with a K8V SE Deluxe board running at stock clock speeds. I've been getting offers for my computer locally and I can make a few hundred on it. If possible, can I get some info on those Dual CPU AMD boards, some recommendations, and wether or not it's better than my current setup. Thanks

2CPU has some good information on Athlon XP SMP setups. Far as performance, it really depends what you want to do with it. The AMD MP chipsets are crap by compare to the newer A64 offerings.

But if you can make a few hundred bucks, why not sell it, buy the exact same thing again, repeat as often as the market allows ... then get a Socket 939 / PCIe solution when it becomes available? :D

I'll make a few hundred.. yeah. But I got the retail access package thing plus a 100 dollar rebate for ratailers. So the MOBO + CPU cost me 270ish dollars shipped. I don't think I can get that deal anymore. Even so, I'll still be a 200 or so up but you think it's worth building a whole new PC?

Well I've been itching to upgrade my PC. My HD is an old 40GB POS, my VC is an FX5200 POS, and my case is an old beatup POS. I just bought a 200 GB HD so that's more reason to upgrade. The VC is not too important to me since I don't play that many games on it anyway.

I don't mind spending extra cash for a setup better than mine. But it seems that the new FX setups are pretty much the only thing better? And those are too expensive now to justify a purchase for me.
