Thats crazy ain't it? I know that's only one benchmark, but I never expected a dual core in any benchmark to actually outperform or even equal a real dual cpu setup. And that is some serious performance, that thing in this benchmark is real close to the Xeon setup which is using 4 cpus.

If the dual core can match the gaming performance of the FX chips, the performance will be incredible. You need a translator, but that screenshot speaks volumes.

It wont!! Not with the FX57 to be out prior to these and games not being multithreaded...FX will still be gaming chips...these will offer damn fast gaming while having the ability to have the other cpu do an entirely different cpu task....That is the beauty of it....

I will have one of these!!! I may even have the dual core opteron first since it will arrive first...that will be 4 cores then in dual cpu setup.....

The Xeon setup only has two physical processors.

Just think about a dual A64 CPU setup with dual cores in each socket running 64 bit apps and games.

maybe finally I'll be able to play Simpsons on one monitor, and be able to play a game on the other

Another source gives a value of 37.8s.

That source is wrong, number wrong, obviously. Look at Dual Xeon Nocona 3.6ghz with HT result.

I have decided to purchase one of these as soon as they are available in the UK. Kudoz to AMD recently, they are kicking intels fatcat ass on the processor scales recently.

I have used all sorts of AMD chips from the K5 up to 3500+ and in the past year or two they are proving that a smaller company with better direction that listen to the public and give them what they want (ie unlocked multipliers) can play with the big boys and win!

Well done AMD :)

It was my understanding that the dual core CPUs will NOT be running at this speed on release. They would have 2800+ 3000+ and 3200+ only. Although i would love to see a 4000+ dual core, i think this is an OCed engineering sample.

BS? look at the roadmaps. There is no 3400+ 3600+ 3800+ or 4000+ dual core on there.

Maybe I'll become a hardware engineer. Discount on beast CPU's while they're still glowing from the forge!

Really there is any PR dual core.

Yea your right, my mistake, its 2 physical, but 4 logical ;)
