Woah that's sweet. And think of all the Intel supporters who said about how the P3 was better cause it put out less heat, hmmm look at the P4/Palomino predicamint they're in now :)

Holy crap! 1.5GHz with no fan? And with aluminum interconnects! That will f*cking rock if it's true. Imagine the overclocking potential!! :D:D:D

Hey, I'd use that heatsink. She's kinda cute in white.

And I'd be sure to use lots of thermal compound, & make sure the connection is tight.

You guys seem to forget that if AMD can get there hands on this tech then so can Intel.

Of course it is great for AMD but I doubt any company can refuse Intel........

Well, if Intel gets their hands on it, then we'll have quiet PC's from both major chip manufacturers! Bring it on!

will intel? they are more into their own tech. they try to bring technology and not use others. thats why AMD has all these partners.

<< The Palomino is just a Thunderbird with a better branch predictor and perhaps a larger cache. >>

I thought someone said that the better branch predictor didn't make it into the palomino but i think larger cache is a given.

this is truely impressive...

hopefully they will release them at lower speed grades... and then we can get down to some serious overclocking..

"P.S. Leo V gotta love this biatch."

No kidding! :D I see my prayers and hopes about the Palomino weren't all for nothing. Now, god willing the CALM cooling system will be out by then. It's the perfect match. Sorry if I sound so religious for an atheist, I couldn't restrain the raw emotion.

i can't believe how gulliable you people are... the author of that article has no credibility. He's the same guy who wrote that 2 gig athlons are coming in January.

Sorry guys, no new Branch prediction units, pipeline enhancements, or larger caches with Palomino. The only tweaks are for heat reduction and power draw reduction.

That's what AMD told us at Comdex, and that's the information Anand has.

yeah Fandu has that correct. no performance improvements at all. just cooling and power draw improvements.

I'd have to say AMD's got that down pretty good.. imagine what they'll be like with Copper? then bumped down to .13 with the performance enhancements (Thoroughbred).. 2+ ghz!

still, that's quite impressive! I don't think that they'll get it any faster without a monster heatsink though.

boy Leo, I could really get philisophic with that one statement.. it exposes alot about religion in general!
