Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3.2 Highlights

Support for:
Oculus Rift™ SDK v1.3
AMD Radeon™ Pro Duo

Updated Crossfire Profiles available for:
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture™
Hitman™ in DirectX®11

Resolved Issues

Counter-Strike™: Global Offensive fails to stretch on non-native display aspect ratios. As part of the new Display Scaling per game feature, users can set "GPU Scaling" to "On" and "Scaling Mode" to "Full Panel" in the Display options tab in Radeon™ Settings as well as setting "Display Scaling" to "Full Panel" in their CSGO gaming profile under the "Gaming, Profile Options" tabs for this to take effect.
AMD Radeon™ Fury Series may experience corruption on desktop when system is idle for an extended period of time.
FFXIV can experience black screen or experience an application hang.
XCOM2™ may experience minor stutter while the camera is panning around a scene.
Radeon™ Settings check for software update may not display the latest available driver.

Known Issues

A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay"
Need For Speed™ may experience poor scaling or flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode. As a work around users can disable the profile through the Radeon™ Settings game manager.
The Division™ may experience flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode.
Power efficiency toggle in Radeon™ Settings is showing up for some unsupported products.
DOTA2™ may experience game menu flickering when entering full screen mode with AMD Crossfire™ enabled.
League of Legends® may experience some graphical corruption on characters death animation in AMD Crossfire™ mode.
XCOM2™ users may experience an application crash when using AMD Crossfire™ mode. As a work around please disable AMD Crossfire™ for the games profile in the Radeon™ Settings Gaming tab.
Hitman™ may experience flickering when played in DirectX™ 11 mode. As a work around users are recommended to either set the game to DirectX™ 12 mode in the games settings launcher or simply set “Shadow Resolution” to “Low” in the game settings.

Notes:

Product is based on the Vulkan™ 1.0 Specification and has been submitted to, and is expected to pass, the Khronos Conformance Process. Current conformance status can be found at www.khronos.org/conformance. Vulkan™ and the Vulkan™ logo are trademarks of the Khronos Group Inc. Guess I'll try these and see how she goes. Usually skip the WHQL's and go for the beta drivers.

Dude... since the drivers went crimson, I have not needed to use DDU once or mess with manual driver uninstall. The driver update process is finally capable of handling its task without cracking. I just run the exe and update saves me from having to recreate my eyefinity array. This is a plus because my resolution doesn't change so my games don't break. Cuz it really sucks editing ini's to change resolution because most games choke when forced to start in the wrong res.

Maybe they dont want another Hawaii mining experience ;)

Well, they'd be better orchestrating it and being prepared rather than letting it end up the same way. @ ~25% market share you'd think they'd want to sell as many GPU's as possible. nVidia would turn this into a goldmine rather than a negative, as you are stating it.

Crimson has so far been a real backward step for me. Multimonitor is crap, no profiles and this one just got uninstalled after lagginess and crashing non-stop. I still think it doesn't play well with Afterburner as well.

What is crap about the eyefinity support other than it not enabling taskbar position on boot (which is annoying I'll agree)? I don't have any problems with afterburner or crashing. I'm running triple 1080 at 144hz.

Multimonitor isn't the same as Eyefinity. I just want Crimson to be able to detect extra monitors, set up profiles for easy hotkey switching, hell even let me change resolution if I want (using 1200p screen however I need 1080p for recording so it's good to hotkey switch).

I had all of that in CCC 4 months ago and I feel I should have it now.

Crimson is a pain in the ass to use with how they moved options around, or plain hiding them. I saw recently at guru some guys were experimenting with combining old Catalyst with current drivers. You should check it out maybe?

Well I'll be damned, did cbrunny get to them?

Resolved Issues

FFXIV can experience black screen or experience an application hang.

I'll have to test the DX11 client on the basement PC after I update the drivers.

i wasn't having issues other than eyefinity and crossfire. i did test this new driver last night and noticed no changes in FFXIV - but I wasn't having the crash that they fixed in the first place.

They (AMD) says it will but...:(

Black screen in Fallout NV..."display driver has stopped working and has recovered" message. My laptop video card is HD ATI 5870m, and sometimes the game becomes unplayable due to constant black screen and sometimes I can play for 8 hrs. no problem. 1080p, windowed mode, single card. Catalyst version 15.7.1.
So...should I try 16.3.2 or roll back drivers to 15.3xxx??

Sometimes I will get a gray flickering screen briefly in other games, but does not last long and game doesn't crash. Advice, please.
