AMD CPU RMA?

Hi I have an AMD cpu which I haven't been using for a couple months because I thought the motherboard had problems. Upon doing RMA for my MSI motherboard, I come to the conclusion that the CPU that I bought has come on DOA. By rule, as I understand from newegg, they have a 30-day return policy. The thing is, I never gotten a chance to use it, not even booting this CPU with a computer up at all.

My question is, is it possible to still RMA or should I buy a new one? I feel jacked because I worked hard to save extra money to buy that cpu to replace my computer. I don't know what other options left for me.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Sounds like the problem is a older bios that does not support a newer chip. Do you have any older cpu's ? What CPU did you buy ?

If its a newer one, you could get the $30 old sempron, use it to flash the bios, then try, if nobody around you has a cpu you can use.

I bought this CPU brand new. Upon asking MSI, they said they had flashed the bios during the RMA. I bought an AMD 64 X2 5400BE. Its the black edition cpu.

If so, then how do I rma it to AMD directly? Because I have never done it before. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
